I noticed that too and was wondering whether it was a subtle taunt from the WT, or maybe an artist expressing a show of solidarity with Anonymous or others.

"Anonymous" featured in WT study lesson photo: deeper meaning?
by JimmyPage inif this has already been discussed i apologize.
i'm only here sporadically anymore.
in a recent wt study a photo was featured in the magazine that showed a "brother" ignoring the "worldly" people around him, including one who appeared to represent the group "anonymous".. i have come to learn that nothing can be taken at surface value when it comes to the borg.

One that stands out to me was the guy that gave a public talk and stated his grievances from the platform and basically DAd himself from the platform. The story is on here somewhere.

Elders- Have any of You faded Because of participating in a JC where the Arguments from the accused made sense to you?
by truthlover ini know the question is long, but it has occured to me that there are a lot of newbies here but before that, many ex elders, some co and do's that are no longer jw's.... did the publishers comments at a jc about the misconceptions, dates, and lack of holy spirit, etc.
make sense to you and did you start thinking about the failed prophecies, fudging the "new light" etc.
which caused you to slowly fade away.. .

I dont know if one can expect a ton of responses regarding JCs involving apostasy. I always figured most JCs involved pornea. Apostasy always seemed to me like something of an urban legend until I started reading personal accounts online. I will say the handful of investigative situations I dealt with and one JC left a humbling effect upon me. The JC for one involved a young couple not yet engaged, that had an instance of fingering. Here we are, three brothers in the library at the KH on a Monday night asking for specifics about what happened on the sofa. Two older 60ish brothers and me barely in my thirties who only several years prior had done my fair share of the same activities we're judging her for. Felt like biggest hypocrite and really should have excused myself but fear can be a mutha. Couple years after that I gave a talk at her congregation and she hugged me like we were related. It surprised me because I figured she should have hated me. Heck, I hated me during her JC. On a positive note, she wasn't DF'd at the time. Just given private a private reproof. To the other brothers' credit, they suggested she go out the door from the library entrance so that nobody at the hall from another congregation would know her business. I went and looked out ahead of her and gave her the signal to come now where a car was awaiting. Real clandestine like that night.
Another situation involved an older sister who recieved a blood transfusion. The body designated an older brother with experience and myself investigate as they all came to the conclusion that it would be good experience for me. We talked with her following a meeting. You could tell she was concerned and worried about us looking to initiate a JC with her being the subject. At the time of the incident, she had significant health problems which my partner was well aware of. Still as he put it "we have to ensure the congregation is clean before Jehovah's eyes as a serious transgression has taken place." The question was whether she willingly accepted a transfusion or was it given while she was unconscious with latter being her answer and corroborated by her one relative who contradicted her at one point. At the end of the day we counseled her and the body agreed to put the matter to rest. While this isnt an apostasy situation that pricked my conscience, it was a situation that left me questioning the purpose of elders.

I have to look into this more. At one point I could rationalize it all but Prometheus so disappointed me so much that I've forgotten how it's all supposed to fit. Gonna have to watch Prometheus again.

Should Employers be WARNED about Jehovahs Witnesses
by BlindersOff1 inany gov agency or private company that has private personal info of customers/clients should be aware.
its common knowledge to long time witnesses that jws will violate customer privacy laws and rules when they see something a customer does or buys that they think jw congregation elders should know about .
thats right they will spy for the elders.. .

I wouldn't hire a Muslim either for fear they might decide to blow themselves up in the place. Not sure if insurance covers suicide bombers. I'm leary of hiring Catholic nurses too, heard they're mandated to sabotage abortion procedures. Hiring a Buddhist to sell carpet is probably a bad idea too as they might start doing yoga right in the middle of a sale. Bastards.

Do you think those at the top realise that it's their fault - suicide as a result of being disfellowshipped?
by jambon1 ini have been stunned to hear of two suicides in our area recently.. this adds to the other 3 that i have known of from the past.. the two recent suicides resulted from 1-the person being gay & hearing a horrific talk at the kingdom hall & 2-the person with problems who was disfelloshipped & then took his life the next week.. it astonished me that jw's in general don't rebel against this sort of thing.
it's an appalling lack of support which leads people to feel distressed, abandoned & unloved.
how the witnesses in the locality can just sail on without giving the cruelty of these measures serious though is beyond me.

Theocratic Sedition
Those at the top are insulated from the emotional aspect of it all. It's kinda like Americans watching the news and seeing a report about their own goverment bombing another country and the report mentions the civilians that got murked in the process. Too bad, but none the less......collateral damage. Or even watching the local news and seeing someone that got shot in a different neighborhood. I didn't know him, wasn't in my community, glad I don't live there, etc.. Even if someone at the top of the WT's food chain did have a more sensitive heart than most, his belief of having a duty before God will prevent him from giving a you know what about someone DF'd committing suicide.

Well I'll be..............The Nation of Islam has a working relationship with Scientology.
by Theocratic Sedition ini wasn't aware of this relationship until reading something online yesterday.
it'd be like the watchtower joining the un.

I wasn't aware of this relationship until reading something online yesterday. This is like something out of a b-movie. It'd be like the Watchtower joining the UN. Oh wait, that..... Anyways, this is crazy! A few paragraphs I pasted, but the link is there if you want to read the whole thing. It's a mad mad world.
The message of the event couldn’t have been clearer: The Church of Scientology was directing the full force of its persuasive powers at the Washington establishment. But who the Church courts and who the Church converts is a very different matter. And when Mike Rinder, Scientology’s former chief spokesman, visited the Washington church last year, he noticed something strange. “Half the damn people there were Nation of Islam,” he told me. “[It’s] the weirdest, weirdest thing.”
The first large-scale introduction of Scientology to Nation members took place in August 2010, when hundreds of believers from around the country traveled to Rosemont, Illinois, near the Nation’s headquarters, for a seminar in Dianetics, a foundational belief system of Scientology. There, they were guided through auditing sessions—a kind of hybrid between hypnosis and confession—in which a Scientologist purges painful experiences from his subconscious in the presence of an “auditor.” At the end of the seminar, Farrakhan told the group he wanted everyone in attendance to become a certified auditor.
Jesse Muhammad, a 34-year-old writer and community organizer who joined the Nation of Islam as a teenager at the urging of an older brother, had driven overnight from Houston for the event. He took this goal seriously. “Those who follow Farrakhan, we trust his guidance, so we jump to it,” he told me. After three weeks of intensive training with Scientologists in Houston, he became certified. The Nation refused to comment for this story, but according to its newspaper, Final Call, as of this spring, more than 1,000 members have become certified auditors and another 4,000 were studying “some aspect of Scientology.”

You are *bleeping* stupid, part 2 - From the April 2013 KM

We had a local needs part last year on the information board. The brother handling the part asked if its a bulletin board, and all the older ones in hall shook their heads vehemently. Some of them even said out loud, no. Its all so petty. On the flipside, the announcements are so neutered that people need reminded to check the board for any and everything. You cant announce who cleans, cant announce a reminder to turn in your time, etc.. All the weight of information is being put upon group overseers nowadays. For everything else there's the information board.
